NOTE: Generally speaking, Nannies are not responsible for ovens, toilets, or anything that would be considered "heavy housework" Unless you have reached a separate agreement with the nanny that specifically addresses these items. Nannies are usually responsible for maintaining the hygiene of all crawling areas in homes where they are caring for infant or toddler crawlers.
Family and Nanny Placement Process
Overview
Once we have received your completed application (enclosed), you will be contacted by a Placement Specialist to discuss your particular childcare needs. We then review all the nanny applicants and a "matching" takes place that strives to match your needs with those of prospective nannies.
We will then arrange interviews for you with as many nannies as appear appropriate for your needs as well as theirs. A second interview may be conducted between your family and the nanny whom you wish to hire. It is preferable to conduct the second interview at your home. We strongly encourage both families and nannies to spend as much time as possible during the interviewing process to facilitate a well thought-out decision.
Expenses,and Salary Compensation
The minimum weekly salary for a live-in nanny is $250.00 per week and $500.00 per week for a live-out nanny. These amounts are based on a forty to fifty-hour workweek. Additional, or fewer hours other than the forty to fifty hour per week range and attendant compensation can be negotiated with the nanny.
Benefits Should Include
Families employing a live-in nanny, should provide use of a car for personal use, if available. Both live-in and live-out full-time nannies should receive a two-week paid vacation per year. They should also receive a monthly contribution of thirty to one hundred dollars to the cost of the nanny's health insurance. This should start no later than three months from the employment start date. Please contact a Professionalnanny.com representative for information about health insurance.
Placement Fee to the Agency
The placement fee to the Agency is $3,000 paid after the family has had a personal interview with the nanny, and has made an offer of employment to the nanny, which has been accepted. The fee is paid immediately after the nanny accepts the position and she is then removed from the interviewing roster.
Payment Arrangements
The Agency will consider requests for special payment arrangements provided these arrangements are made in advance.
Temporary Care
Temporary and emergency care is provided to families in need of immediate coverage through a member of the Professionalnanny.com as available. The cost for temporary care is; $150.00 application fee (the cost of this application fee is waived for Professionalnanny.com families) to become a member plus a per day fee to the Agency. For non-members the rate is slightly higher. Special rates available for month placements. Please call the office for more information.
